8/22 Galatians 3:7-8

7 Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. 8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "In you shall all the nations be blessed."

Paul was the apostle to the Gentiles, the nations of the world. He could see numerous promises in the Scriptures of Gentiles receiving God's blessings. While he was growing up, he could see only Jews who worshiped the one true God, but when God called him, God sent him specifically to the Gentiles (Acts 22:21).

Paul discovered that being a child of Abraham was not a matter of ancestry, but a matter of faith. Abraham was counted as righteous because he believed God, so all who believe God by faith are considered sons of Abraham. Paul quoted a portion of Genesis 12:3 to prove his point. God promised that all the nations would be blessed in Abraham. The Good News of Jesus being the way to God by faith for all who believe is predicted in those words. Abraham was not only the physical father of the Jewish people, but spiritually of all who come to God by faith.

The nations of the world are flowing into the family of God as the gospel is proclaimed. God's promise to Abraham is coming to pass (Isaiah 2:2). The descendant of Abraham, Jesus, has made a way for all who will believe and thereby become acceptable to God. While visiting the Christian sites in Israel you can hear languages from around the world. Even countries closed to the gospel have underground churches. All the nations of the world are being blessed by coming in faith to Jesus.

Remember: If you are in a Western nation with a low conversion rate, think of the bigger picture. The nations of the world are flowing into the Kingdom.
